Cycling

One of the fastest and most enjoyable ways to travel to and around the UBC campus is on two wheels. Particularly for commuters traveling less than 6 or 7 kilometers, cycling is often the quickest and easiest way to get to UBC.Cycling is convenient, inexpensive, non-polluting, fun, and it’s a great way to save time by combining your commute with your workout.

UBC is committed to supporting cyclists, and is continually looking to upgrade and expand on-road infrastructure and end-of-trip facilities for those commuting by bike. Secure bike parking is free, and racks (some covered) are available throughout the campus. Showers and lockers for clothing and/or bikes are also available at several locations. For those that don’t have a bike on campus, but would like to get around campus quickly, a couple of bike-share programs are available for UBC community members. If you are new to cycling, our cycling tips and resources will help get you on your way. Finally, UBC has a number of policies, from development requirements to bicycle removal that may be of interest.

Happy riding!
