Transit

Public transit is the most popular way to get to campus! Since 1997, transit ridership to UBC has nearly quadrupled, thanks in large part to to the implementation of the U-Pass.

TransLink, the regional public transit agency, provides bus service to UBC 7 days a week. Choosing public transit offers you time to relax and do something more productive and less stressful than sitting behind the wheel of your car. You can also forget about the hassles of gridlock and parking.

The U-Pass provides unlimited access to transit services across all 3 zones. The program is mandatory for all students who pay AMS fees. Staff and faculty may apply for an Employer Pass which provides a discount of approximately 15% off the monthly FareCard price. All transit passes are valid on UBC’s Community Shuttles, great for getting around once you’re on campus. The Community Shuttles serve UBC’s South Campus residents and UBC’s many attractions, including the Museum of Anthropology, Nitobe Gardens, the Chan Centre, and the Botanical Gardens. Monthly transit passholders – including those with a U-Pass or Employer Pass – qualify for a federal tax credit.
